The Art of the Ancient Americas Department at LACMA has opened a newly installed permanent gallery for materials from West Mexico, northern Mexico, and the American Southwest. With a new layout, new themes, and new objects on display, this gallery showcases the arts of ancient Colima, Nayarit, and Jalisco, as well as Casas Grandes, the Mimbres Valley, and Ancestral Pueblos of New Mexico, among others.
